I choose to use a dehydrating method for this recipe because dehydrating seed crackers instead of baking them offers several advantages, particularly in terms of preserving the nutritional value of the ingredients. When seeds are dehydrated at low temperatures, typically below 118°F (48°C), their essential nutrients, enzymes, and vitamins remain intact, ensuring that your dog receives the maximum nutritional benefits.
Can I use regular flaxseeds instead of ground flaxseed? While dogs can consume whole flax seeds, it's generally recommended to use ground flaxseeds because they are easier for dogs to digest and absorb the nutrients. Grinding flax seeds helps break down the tough outer shell, making the nutrients more accessible.
